Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2, 2026

TrySsy is a mobile application and website (tryssy.com) operated by Mykhailo Bilyi, an individual based in Poland (referred to as "we", "us", "our" throughout this Policy). Together, the app and the website are referred to as the "Service". This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.

By using the Service, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who is the data controller

Mykhailo Bilyi (Poland) is the data controller of your personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent laws. You can contact us at privacy@tryssy.com.

2. What we collect

2.1 Account information

  • Email address — when you sign up with email, Google, or Apple.
  • User ID — a unique identifier issued by Firebase Authentication.
  • Display name — only if you provide one in your profile.

2.2 Profile and preferences

During onboarding, or later in your profile, you may optionally provide information about yourself to personalize the AI evaluation. Every field is optional — feedback that takes your context into account is more useful, but you may skip any of them.

Categories of profile data we may collect, depending on what you choose to provide:

  • Demographic data — such as your date of birth (used to compute your age) and sex / gender.
  • Body measurements — such as height and weight, used so the AI can comment on fit. Not used for any health, medical, or insurance purpose.
  • Fashion preferences — such as your style, color, and material preferences, your fashion goal, and the AI "persona" (the tone the AI uses when speaking to you).
  • App settings — such as interface and response language, push notification preference.

We may add new optional profile fields as the Service evolves. We will update this Privacy Policy and notify you of material changes (see §11).

2.3 Content you submit

  • Photos of clothing or outfits that you scan in the app. Photos are uploaded to our backend so the AI can perform clothing segmentation and outfit evaluation.
  • Scan history — the results of your scans (scores, recommendations) and metadata you choose to attach.

2.4 Subscription and purchase data

  • Purchase events and subscription status — handled by Apple App Store and processed through RevenueCat. We do not store your payment card details; Apple does.

2.5 Device and technical data

  • Device identifiers (vendor identifier, app instance ID), operating system version, app version, device model, language and region.
  • Crash reports and performance data — collected via Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Performance Monitoring to fix bugs and improve the app. These reports may include stack traces and a small amount of device state at the moment of the crash. They do not include your photos or scan content.
  • Product analytics — anonymous events such as which screens you opened and which features you used. Used to improve the product. We do not use this for advertising.

2.6 Information we do NOT collect

  • We do not use the Apple Advertising Identifier (IDFA).
  • We do not track you across other apps or websites.
  • We do not sell your personal data.

3. How we use your data

We use the data above to:

  • Provide the core functionality (scanning, evaluation, history, sharing).
  • Personalize the AI evaluation using the profile data you have chosen to provide (age, body measurements, fashion preferences).
  • Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
  • Process subscriptions and grant access to paid features.
  • Diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve performance.
  • Communicate with you about service updates and respond to support requests.
  • Comply with our legal obligations.

Our legal bases under GDPR are (a) performance of the contractbetween you and us (delivering the Service you signed up for), (b) legitimate interests (improving the product, security, fraud prevention), (c) consent where required (e.g., certain analytics), and (d) legal obligation (when we have to retain or disclose data by law).

4. AI processing of your photos and profile

When you scan an outfit, the following is sent to our segmentation service and to Google's Gemini API for evaluation:

  • The photo you scanned.
  • The profile data you have chosen to provide (such as your age — derived from your date of birth — sex, body measurements, and fashion preferences, as described in §2.2). Fields you left blank are not sent.

The data is used only to produce your scan result and is associated with your account. Under Google's Generative AI API terms, your photos and prompts are not used to train Google's general-purpose AI models.

For "temporary" scans, the photo and result are automatically deleted from our servers within 24 hours. For "permanent" scans, they are retained until you delete them or close your account.

5. Who we share data with

We share data only with service providers who help us operate the Service:

  • Google (Firebase) — Authentication, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, and analytics. Firebase Privacy.
  • Apple — Sign in with Apple, App Store payments, TestFlight beta delivery.
  • RevenueCat — Subscription management. RevenueCat Privacy.
  • Amazon Web Services — hosting and storage of scan images and ML model artifacts in the European Union.
  • Google (Gemini API) — to generate the outfit evaluation text from your scanned photos and the profile data you have chosen to provide (see §4). Inputs are sent under Google's Generative AI API data processing terms, which prohibit using them to train Google's general-purpose models. Gemini API Terms.

We may also disclose data when required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a merger or acquisition. In such cases the acquirer is bound by this Policy.

6. International transfers

Your data is primarily stored in the European Union. Some of our processors (e.g., Google, Apple) may transfer data to the United States or other jurisdictions. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

7. How long we keep data

  • Account data — until you delete your account.
  • Permanent scans — until you delete them or your account.
  • Temporary scans — automatically deleted within 24 hours.
  • Analytics events — up to 14 months.
  • Crash and performance reports — up to 90 days.
  • Billing and tax-related records — up to 5 years after the end of the calendar year of the transaction, as required by Polish tax law (Ordynacja podatkowa Art. 86 § 1) and EU VAT Directive 2006/112/EC.

If we discontinue the Service (e.g., we shut the project down), we will give you reasonable advance notice via the app or email and an opportunity to export your data before user accounts and associated content are deleted, subject to the legal retention requirements above.

8. Your rights

If you are in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with similar laws, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Restrict or object to processing.
  • Receive a portable copy of your data.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

You can delete your account directly in the app under Profile → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account, scan history, and associated photos. For other requests, write to privacy@tryssy.com and we will respond within 30 days.

9. Security

We use HTTPS for all network traffic, encrypt data at rest where supported by our cloud provider, and limit internal access to personal data on a need-to-know basis. No system is perfectly secure, but we follow industry standards and patch known vulnerabilities promptly.

10. Age requirement

TrySsy is intended for adults only. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. This requirement reflects the terms of our AI provider (Google Gemini API) and our own policy. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used the Service, contact us at privacy@tryssy.com and we will delete the account and associated data.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
